Who is EPI? Engineering & Manufacturing Excellence

For nearly six decades, EPI Enclosures & Engineering has been a trusted name in the industrial manufacturing industry. What began as a small sheet metal shop has grown into a respected electrical enclosure manufacturer known for engineering expertise, dependable solutions, and strong industry partnerships. At our core, EPI exists to support the infrastructure that powers everyday life, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Our Story: Built on Engineering and Experience

EPI started in 1967 when the company was founded as a sheet metal shop under the name Glo Jo. In 1972, the business took a defining turn when Mr. Ted Rodriguez purchased the company and shifted its focus toward the electrical industry. That strategic decision laid the foundation for what EPI is today.

In 1974, EPI strengthened that foundation with the addition of an engineering department, when Ted’s son, Mr. Rudi R. Rodriguez, joined the company. Today, Rudi serves as EPI’s CEO, continuing the legacy. Although “Engineering” was officially added to our name in 2014, engineering has always been central to our identity. It guides how we design, build, and deliver every product that leaves our facility.

What We Manufacture: Solutions You Can Rely On

At EPI, we don’t just manufacture electrical enclosures, we manufacture reliable solutions.

Our product offerings include NEMA enclosures, wireways, and bussed secondary products. From standard, off-the-shelf enclosures to highly customized designs with unique sizing, layouts, and configurations, EPI is equipped to handle projects of all levels of complexity.

What truly sets us apart is our engineering-first approach. Our engineering team works closely with distributors and engineers, producing detailed drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and clarity before production begins. This process minimizes errors, streamlines manufacturing, and helps projects move seamlessly from concept to completion.

Our Key Partners: Relationships That Power Success

EPI’s success is built on strong, long-term partnerships throughout the electrical industry. As a B2B manufacturer, we sell exclusively through distributors, and we’re proud to work alongside some of the most respected names in the market, including CED, Crawford Electric Supply, Graybar, Rexel, and Wholesale Electric Supply, to name a few.

In addition to our distributor relationships, we also maintain close partnerships with electrical utility companies across the country. Some more local utilities include AEP, CenterPoint Energy, CPS Energy, Oncor, and PEC. Collaboration with utilities allows us to better understand each utility’s specific requirements.

These trusted relationships allow faster communication, greater efficiency, and a smoother project experience for everyone involved.

Our Core Values: What Drives Us Forward

No matter the size of the project or the challenges involved, EPI operates with a clear set of core values that guide our decisions and daily operations. These values don’t change when things get difficult; they matter most when they’re tested.

Dependability
EPI is a manufacturer you can count on. In an industry where timelines, safety, and performance matter, we remain committed to delivering high-quality, reliable solutions. When challenges arise, we stand with our customers and work through them to ensure project success.

Integrity and Trustworthiness
We operate with honesty and transparency in everything we do. Our goal is simple: to deliver long-lasting, quality solutions that meet your needs. We believe trust is earned over time, and many of our partnerships span decades because we do what we say we will do.

Professionalism
From the front office to the plant floor, professionalism is at the forefront of EPI’s operations. We follow established SOPs, communicate clearly, and lead with a customer-first mindset. Whether you’re speaking directly with our team, collaborating with our engineers, or picking up an order at our facility, you’ll work with knowledgeable professionals who respect your time and your project.

Hard Work
Hard work is embedded in EPI’s culture. We don’t shy away from challenges; we face them head-on. That work ethic extends beyond manufacturing and quoting; it includes continuous learning, industry research, relationship-building, and anticipating customer needs before they arise. We take pride in doing the work the right way, every time

Engineering Confidence Drives Every Project

At EPI Enclosures & Engineering, our longevity, partnerships, and values all point to one mission: delivering dependable, engineered solutions that help our partners succeed. As the electrical industry continues to evolve, we do what we’ve always done best: building quality products, standing behind our work, and powering progress together.
