Time to Lock n’ Load

September 1st marks the beginning of hunting season in Texas. It starts with the opening of dove season. For many years, EPI has offered many of our customers, partners, and friends an annual dove hunt at “Rancho Colorado del Norte.” The ranch is located in Medina County 45 minutes southwest of San Antonio. Medina County farmers produce corn and sunflowers that attract the birds to the area. The ranch offers tanks, skeet shooting, multiple fields for hunting, and a beautiful hunter’s patio. The state offers several different types of doves that hunters may harvest: mourning doves, white-wing doves, and Eurasian doves. Hunters should consult the Texas Parks & Wildlife for the limit and species you can harvest.

Labor Day is just around the corner and we look forward to the holiday for some time off. Football season is officially here, and the excitement of high school Friday Night Lights begins. From the smallest of towns to the big cities, there are many high school, collegiate, and professional football games to catch in the state of Texas. In addition, there will be plenty of events happening such as BBQs, cookouts, post-game parties, illegal betting, arguments, delusional expectations, and perhaps the most talked about topic of the season, “Is this really the year for the Cowboys?” Don’t miss the chance to watch and enjoy your favorite teams compete with your family and friends. Go Team!!
