Application

EPI NEMA Type 4X Double Door, Floor Mount, Stainless Steel Enclosures are designed to house electrical controls, terminals, and instruments in areas that may be regularly hosed down or where serious corrosion problems exist. Suitable for use outdoors, or in dairies, breweries, petrochemical plants, sewage plants, food processing areas, packing plants, and similar installations.

Construction

Made from 14, 12, or 10-gauge stainless steel (Type 304 2B) with strong and rigid construction. Seams are continuously welded. There are no holes or knockouts. A lip is provided on all three sides of the door, preventing dirt and liquid from dropping into the enclosure. Stainless steel door clamps are provided on three sides of each door to ensure a watertight seal with oil-resistant gaskets. A heavy gauge stainless steel continuous stainless steel hinge supports each door. A center post is installed for increased rigidity. A hasp and staple are provided on each door for padlocking. Mounting brackets are provided for the optional mounting panel, otherwise not installed. Each enclosure has 12-inch floor stands and body stiffeners.

Finish

Panels must be ordered separately. Panels are available in stainless steel, aluminum, and painted steel. Floor stand kits in 6-inch, 12-inch, 18-inch, and 24-inch heights are available for factory installation on all double-door NEMA 4X enclosures.

Industry Standard

Meets National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standard for Type 4 (Water Tight and Dust Tight), Type 4X (Water Tight, Dust Tight, and Corrosion Resistant), Type 12 (Industrial Use), and Type 13 (Oil Tight and Dust Tight) enclosures. JIC standard EGP-1-1967.
