Application

EPI NEMA Type 4 Double Door Floor Mounted Enclosures are designed to house electrical controls, terminals, and instruments in areas that may be regularly hosed down or are very wet environments.

Construction

Made from 14, 12, or 10-gauge galvanized steel. All seams are continuously welded and there are no holes or knockouts. A lip is provided around three sides of the door. This lip increases strength and keeps dirt and liquids from dropping into the enclosure. Clamps are provided on three sides of each door to ensure a watertight seal with neoprene gaskets. The gaskets are attached with an oil-resistant adhesive. All exterior hardware (such as clamps, clamp screws, hinge pins, etc.) is stainless steel. A heavy-gauge continuous stainless steel hinge supports each door. The center post is not removable. A hasp and staple are provided on each door for padlocking. Each enclosure has 12- inch floor stands and body stiffeners.

Accessories

Panels must be ordered separately. Floor stand kits in 6, 12, 18, and 24-inch heights are available for factory installation on all two-door NEMA 4 enclosures. Drip shield kits protect the door hardware from dripping water and settling dust.

Finish

The standard finish for enclosures and panels is Sherwin Williams ANSI-70 light-dove gray enamel inside and out. Other finishes are available for specific applications.

Industry Standard

Meets National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standard for Type 4 (Watertight and Dust-tight) and Type 13 (Industrial use) enclosures.
