Application

EPI NEMA 4X JIC, Stainless Steel, Clamp Cover Only Enclosures are designed for use in areas that may be regularly hosed down or are very wet. They are suitable for use in dairies, breweries, and similar installations. They are also designed for use in areas where serious corrosion problems exist.

Construction

Made from 16 or 14-gauge stainless steel (Type 304 2B). Enclosures feature external stainless steel screw clamps on all four sides for securing the cover. The solid neoprene gasket is attached to the cover with an oil-resistant adhesive. All hardware is stainless steel. There are no knockouts or holes. External feet are furnished for mounting. Panels must be ordered separately.

Note: Enclosure structural support, wall framing, and anchoring hardware are the responsibility of the installing contractor or project engineer, not EPI.

Finish

The standard finish is Type 304-2B stainless steel. Enclosures are unpainted and all cover surfaces are ground smooth.

Industry Standard

Meets National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Type 4 (Water Tight and Dust Tight), Type 4X (Water Tight, Dust Tight, and Corrosion Resistant), and Type 13 (Oil Tight and Dust Tight) enclosures.
