Here at EPI, engineering isn’t just a support function — it’s the foundation of everything we do. For more than 50 years, our engineering department has helped shape every project that leaves our facility. 

A Legacy Built on Engineering

While EPI was founded in 1967, the engineering department was created in 1974 when Mr. Rudi R. Rodriguez, current CEO, joined the company, helping establish an engineering-first mindset that continues to define EPI today.

Although “Engineering” was officially added to our name in 2014, it has always been at the core of our identity. For decades, engineering has driven how we approach design, manufacturing, and problem-solving, allowing EPI to evolve alongside the electrical industry and meet increasingly complex project demands.

Due to our strong relationships with utility companies and our understanding of their individual standards, our engineering team can design solutions that align with utility expectations early in the project’s development. 

A prime example of this would be our recent collaboration with PEC (Pedernales Electric Coop.) to help them redefine the standards for their PEC CT Enclosures.
