PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Application
EPI NEMA Type 4 Enclosures are designed to house electrical controls, terminals, and instruments in areas, which are regularly hosed down or are very wet environments.
Construction
Made from 14 or 12-gauge steel. All seams are continuously welded. There are no holes or knockouts. A lip is provided on three sides of the door, increasing strength and preventing dirt and liquids from dropping into the enclosure. The neoprene door gasket is attached with an oil-resistant adhesive. The door clamps are quick and easy to operate and have no loose parts. Exterior clamps, clamp screws, and hinge-pin are stainless steel. A hasp and staple are provided for padlocking. Body stiffeners and door stiffeners are provided in larger enclosures for extra rigidity. External feet are provided for mounting.
Accessories
Panels must be ordered separately. Floor stand kits in 6, 12, 18, and 24-inch heights are available for factory installation on all NEMA 4 enclosures. Drip shield kits protect the door hardware from dripping water and settling dust.
Finish
The standard finish is Sherwin Williams ANSI-70 light-dove gray enamel, inside and out. Panels are the same. Other finishes are available for specific application.
Industry Standard
These enclosures meet the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standard for Type 4 (Industrial Use) enclosures.
