Unique Electrical Projects

Over the course of the past fifty years, we have had many challenges and opportunities to demonstrate our engineering and plant production capabilities. As such, we would like to share a few memorable and significant projects. One such project is the “Super Collider” for the Department of Defense” (DOD). Along with one of our leading distributors, we were tasked to manufacture NEMA12 enclosures for this project.

As such, a system of wireway and enclosures were needed to be designed and manufactured to sustain an indoor environment that was constructed in a basement-like facility several floors under the ground. Although this state of the art “Atom Smashing” equipment requires varying levels of compression and tension. Our NEMA Type 12 enclosure and wireway requirements were for the general lighting and controls of this facility which are in a “Dust-tight” environment. Although this may sound like a straightforward solution, the need to provide safe housing for the internal peripheries for this sophisticated system was of critical concern.

We at EPI are very proud to have been a part of this very illustrious national project that has provided scientists with quantum insights into molecular structure. We applaud the team of scientist on this incredible state of the art endeavor to discover the mysteries of the universe. We thank the distributor, contractor and our team of engineers and plant personnel that made our part possible.
