Texas History Month

Viva Tejas! This month marks the beginning of spring and holds a very special Texas anniversary. On March 2nd, 1836, Texas declared its independence from Mexico. Texas Independence Day is celebrated throughout the state and we remember our rich Texas history. In addition, the Battle of the Alamo occurred in March 1836 in present-day downtown San Antonio. The Alamo Chapel still stands today open to the public and visitors interested in Texas history. The history of the battle is symbolic of the Texas spirit and volunteerism that has become woven into the fabric of Texas culture. Also, during this time of year be sure to witness the bluebonnets spring up and down the Texas hill country highways. The drive to and from Canyon Lake is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the state. If you’re celebrating this Texas anniversary in a special way, please share it with us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/epienclosures/.
