It’s Buck Fever Time!!!

It’s Buck Fever Time! With the temperatures dropping this month the elusive whitetail bucks are beginning to run hard. In Texas, deer season begins in November and runs through January. For these few months, hunters may harvest whitetail deer, mule deer, and Axis deer. Other game is available but is certain to be exotic game held on private hunting ranches.

Most Texas hunters dream of the “Muy Grande” that will one day be harvested. This means a male deer with at least twelve points and weighing 150lbs or more. The reality is that most hunters will be satisfied with a smaller animal, a nice place to hunt that will produce a lifetime of stories to tell.

This year, most Texas counties will allow the harvest of two male deer with antlers and two antlerless deer. Here’s hoping you the best, shoot straight and be safe this season.
